For The Community — Anyone Who Wants To Care Better

As a practicing physician for over a decade, leadership coach, and lover of insightful conversation, I’m an expert in the practice of human connection. Through facilitated discussions and group experiences, people can experiences, within minutes, what it feels like to be deeply seen and heard by another human. Participants develop a healthy relational reference point, and are introduced to the coaching process I teach, The ARC of Relational Presence.

For Medical Students, Residents, and Licensed Health Professionals

I teach the process for learning The ARC of Relational Presence through bespoke workshops, trainings, and retreats. Early introduction of these skills in the medical education process, sustaining humanism in medicine, especially in this evolving technological world. It has the potential to reduce moral injury and improve career satisfaction. In patient care, these skills strengthen the bond and co-creative relationship between patients and their care providers.

For Physician Entrepreneurs

As a 15 Commitments Coach trained at the The Conscious Leadership Group, I offer 6- and 12-month-long 1:1 coaching engagements where I work with physician entrepreneurs as their leadership coach, confidant, and thought partner. I guide them through a transformative process where they develop unshakeable self-leadership and grounding based in conscious leadership principles. This process helps them to break through barriers to growth and scaling, teaches them how to be with uncertainty, and develops the relational skills and mental models in leadership needed to bring their vision to life.

Philosophy

Patients. Physicians and providers. The Healthcare System.

We’re in relationship with each other, contributing to the culture of medicine. Whether we know it or not, together we lead.

The way we — patients, physicians, and administrators of the system — lead ourselves, and how we show up with each other matters. A lot. Our choices, about whether we show up consciously or unconsciously, greatly impact how we care and how we are cared for.

Culture is created together. Leadership is created together. And life, that is co-created too. We are each responsible for our own part.

If we take this perspective, how might the healthcare landscape look?

Imagine patients are willing to candidly express concerns to their care teams. This can elicit a match in compassion and response from their providers. This also has the potential to demand a shift in the system that no other influence may achieve.

Imagine physicians know how to feel their feelings, and not become numb through the medical training process. Preserved empathy in the patient-physician relationship builds trust and invites patients to collaborate more fully in their care.

Imagine a system designed by administrators who explore how the opposite of their views may be true. This supports them to adapt to emerging needs and create win-win-win solutions for all.

My coaching and consulting practice is centered on several principles, including the concepts of wholeness, relational presence, and conscious leadership. I value authentic creativity, deep connection, and growth through play. I know these are loaded concepts. But underneath it all, it’s really quite simple:

Let’s shift the context of how we care.
